Cutting hair to grow it...

Come on, it's logical, isn't it? You grow out your hair, but in the process, you need to cut it, so you won't go completely crazy, because of the various layers, that are making your hair look like crap every 6 to 8 weeks. Plus, the ends like to get frizzy and split, so cutting them is essential for your hair's sake and for your own.

To my husband "cutting hair to grow is perverse." Of course he was against my short hair to begin with, and feels confirmed in his belief, that I have made a huge mistake, after I decided that I want to grow it out again. What he doesn't realize, is that the reason for my decision to grow my hair again has nothing to do with what it looks like. I like the way my short hair looks. I grow it, because short hair is a pain in the butt to take care of. No bad hair days allowed.
But that doesn't count in my husband's humble opinion, and therefore he's right, I'm wrong, and I'm growing it, because it's ugly when it's short. And cutting it to grow it... well, that's just perverse and completely unnecessary. :)

I have a hair appointment this evening at 5:00. :P

  1. Sounds so logical! I grow my hair out so I can wear it in a ponytail! My hubby doesn't get that either! Have a great Tuesday!

  2. I don't understand that hair growing thing at all. I haven't grown any (except in my ears) for several years!

  3. You should post a pic, I haven't seen you with short hair.

And the whole cut it to grow it is because if you have split ends, the hair won't grow nice. You'll just get longer split ends. If you TRIM it...then it grows better and healthier.

  4. I was always told that hair grows faster and stronger if you trim it every couple of months. Since I only cut mine once every four or five years, I don't know if that's actually true.

Sometimes though even a trim can give you a real boost. Especially is the summer.

  5. yeah short hair looks cute but i always found it more work to style. But yeah to grow it out, if you want it to look cute and feel and look healthy you want to trim it as it grows. There's rhyme to the reasons...
