1. My back hurts, my abs hurt, my arms hurt, my legs hurt. No, it wasn't an especially good workout with Maya (my Wii coach). It was good old fashioned digging in the dirt, planting seeds and putting together two rather large raised beds. We have lettuce, spinach, onions, and carrots outside. Inside we have tomatoes, cantaloupe, and brussels sprouts. I sewed a bunch of flower seeds too. We'll put squash, beans, peas, and more tomatoes into the raised beds. Today I'm pooped.
2. Unfortunately I don't get a chance to be pooped and hang out all day. I have to cook a German meal for a family, who has won this last year at the Village Home auction. I have absolutely zero desire to spend the one day of spring, when it's going to be 70F out there, in the kitchen, cooking all afternoon. I am not just a little annoyed by that.
3. I am also the teacher of our Rational Sunday School. Rational Sunday School was started by my husband and myself for secular families. We're teaching ethics, evolution, and other interesting things, and today we'll talk about what we'll be remembered for, and learn about Thomas Edison. Yes, all while it's beautiful and sunny out. I DON'T WANNA!!
4. I really think we should have dinner with friends at least once a month. I'll aim for just that. Be prepared for invitations, people.
5. Shady Lady, we did drink the ice wine... and it was kind so-so. Ask Evonne, she'll agree.
6. Someone asked me, and here's the answer... NO, I did not make the noodle knot with my tongue.
Yep, and that's pretty much it. I will now go and buy all the things I need for the friggin' dinner, and hopefully I'll get as much done as possible, so I won't have to actually spend ALL afternoon in the kitchen, slaving away for people I don't know. (That rules out a career choice right there, doesn't it?)
Your Rational Sunday School sounds great! Love that idea. Good luck with the dinner and I hope you get to enjoy the spring weather a little bit at least.
ReplyDeleteDang, I keep forgetting to start my garden! Ughhhh!
ReplyDeleteLove your Rational SS idea. That's pretty interesting!
That noodle is awesome! lol
Sorry hopefully the weather will be nice and you can enjoy your week instead.
ReplyDeleteCan you say "I'm playin hooky?" (I know, you can't. I'm sorry.) Sometimes, good ideas just go wrong.... ;-)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your garden!!
ReplyDeleteI'm ready for my invite. :) Will you cook me something German? Pleeeeeaaase? Lizard King would love it, too.
I tied a cherry stem in a knot with my tongue once. It took me like half an hour to do it.
ugh... i better get my house in order before heading to the garden!
ReplyDeleteWe're still waiting (impatiently) for spring.
ReplyDeleteThe dinner sounds nice except for the you have to make it all part. Last year I donated my time to make a child's birthday cake for an auction, what a pain! For a good cause though.
I can't wait to dig in my garden. I always say it isn't a good day unless there's dirt under my fingernails!
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by Rational Sunday School, too.
ReplyDeleteAfter you enjoy a satisfying fix of sunshine, please tell us about it. :D
I love the tuckered out feeling you get from gardening...YES!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love gardening too and realize each year I get a little bit more sore than the previous year.
ReplyDeleteI believe being a chef is definitely not in the cards...
Like others, I am curious about rational sunday school as well.
ReplyDeleteSo tired, eh? It's hard to beat garden tired I think. Of course, many disagree, but I love to feel like I have accomplished something useful!
Ahhh, I can't wait to get out there in the dirt and start building the flower gardens again. Almost 30 years I've done it here!
ReplyDeleteIt was 30 degrees here this morning with flurries of snow and spits of icy rain. I am SO ready!
I hope when you read this you've had your time in the sun. Sounds like you deserve it!
Sounds like we are having similar weeks. I did spend time outside planting with my daughter but I am going to pay the price for not getting my regular stuff done...starting tomorrow. Arg.
